MERCY KILLING
This is something about mercy killing I JUST READ THE FAQs AND ONE OF THEM WAS STRIKING TO ME.I HAVE ADDED THAT HERE ,BUT IF YOU WANT TO READ THE WHOLE TOPIC THE LINK IS ALSO ATTACHED. TOWARDS THE LAST PART WHICH IS IN RED , WHEN I WENT THRU IT I WAS LITTLE DISTURBED.I DONT KNOW IF I MISINTERPRETED ANYTHING?? SUGGESSIONS!!! 1) Certainly people wouldn’t be forced into euthanasia or assisted suicide, would they?
Oregon’s assisted suicide law does not allow anyone to "coerce" or use "undue influence" to obtain a request for assisted suicide.(42) However, there is absolutely nothing in the Oregon law to prevent HMOs, managed care companies, doctors or anyone else from suggesting, encouraging, offering, or bringing up assisted suicide with a patient who has not asked about it.
Emotional, financial and psychological pressures could become overpowering for depressed or dependent people. If the choice of euthanasia or assisted suicide is considered as good as a decision to receive care, some people will feel guilty for not choosing death.
The concern about "being a burden" could serve as a powerful force that could influence the decision. The third annual report on deaths under the Oregon assisted suicide law illustrates this. In 63% of the deaths reported, fear of being a burden was expressed as a reason for requesting assisted suicide.(43)
Even the smallest gesture could create a gentle nudge into the grave. Such was evidenced in greeting cards sold at a national conference of the Hemlock Society.
[According to the conference program, the cards were designed to be given to
those who are terminally ill. One card in particular exemplified the core of the
movement that would remove the last shred of hope remaining to a person faced
with a life-threatening illness. It carried the message, "I learned you’ll be
leaving us soon]

THANKS kamal.........this is an eye opener to all.
i prefer to die than becoming a burden to others.i heard and said this sentence so many times.
but if such law comes into existence...there can be a flood of cases ......a lot of people will be thrown into the hands of death even without a try.....even without their consent or acceptance of the situation
it will give excuse to hope.........
it can be an uncontrollable situation....
IN FUTURE IF IT IS CONSIDERED AS A MODE OF REDUCING THE JUNK I MEAN LIKE MACHINES THAT NEVER CAN BE MEND,WOULD BE RECYCLED OR DUMPED IN THE JUNK YARD,THE SAME FATE ,ARE WE LUCKY ENOUGH TO ESCAPE OR RATHER BE PUSHED INTO THE GRAVE YARD???? ITS NO LONG THAT WE WOULD BE ONCE IN THE SAME POSITION, AND WILL OUR CHILDREN SENTENCE US FOR THAT FATE????THIS DAY OR ANOTHER, ONCE BORN SHOULD DIE, BUT ITS PAINFUL BEING PUSHED INTO A 6 Ft. LONG COFFIN EVEN THOUGH NO HOPE EXISTS....SO I THINK A LIVING WILL, WILL HELP, I CAN SAY ITS MY SOLE DECISION AND NO BODY ELSE CREATES MY FATE OR NOBODY ELSE DECIDE WHEN I SHOULD DIE.WELL ITS ALL UPTO ALMIGHTY GOD,LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST....
